Russ Algood

Russ Algood started with a small BHPH dealership in 1976. Over the next 10 years Russ became a part owner and operator of 5 new car stores and over a dozen used car dealerships.

In 1988, Russ Algood co-founded General Acceptance Corporation a non-prime auto finance company, which went public in 1995. He founded Ace Motor Acceptance Corporation in 1998 and is the company’s CEO.

John Donaldson

John Donaldson

President & CFO

John Donaldson is the President and Chief Financial Officer of Ace Motor acceptance Corporation (AMAC). Mr. Donaldson’s deep understanding of complex issues facing dealers has made him a leader in the auto-finance industry. In his current role he focuses on developing comprehensive financial and operational solutions for AMAC including fully automated systems integration, internal and external reporting, risk management, and Quality Control. He also leads all legal matters pertaining AMAC.

In Mr. Donaldson’s Public Accounting Career prior to AMAC he worked for several national Public Accounting firms in their Tax and Dealership groups. In early 2012 he accepted a position with AMAC as its Chief Financial Officer. In early 2014 he was named the President of AMAC.

Mr. Donaldson earned his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Appalachian State University in NC. He is Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and has a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation from the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). He regularly speaks at many industry conventions and events on various topics including accounting, finance, and operations.

Dr. James Rorie

Dr. James Rorie

Director of IT

Dr. James Rorie is the Director of Information Technology at Ace Motor Acceptance Corporation. His focus is on optimization of business processes and enterprise level security. He works closely with the President of AMAC developing automated business intelligence systems.

Dr. Rorie has worked in Information Technology over 30 years. During this time, he has held a number of leadership positions with UNCC Charlotte, David H. Murdock Research Institute, Carolina’s Medical Center, AT&T, Lucent Technology and Alcatel. He is founder and a partner in Logisys, an information technology company based in Charlotte since 1994. Dr. Rorie worked with DARPA and UCSD in the development of high speed systems for the next generation of High Performance Computing (HPC). Additionally, he has worked with UNC-Charlotte and the David H Murdock Research institute in Bioinformatics, focusing on cancer and diabetes research.

Dr. Rorie received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the William States Lee College of Engineering at UNC-Charlotte in 1999. He also has a Master of Science in Engineering degree and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science degree. Dr. Rorie has worked in Information Technology over 30 years.

Wayne Garland

Director of Business Development

Wayne Garland is the Director of Business Development for Ace Motor Acceptance Corporation (AMAC). Wayne has an extensive automotive background having run several new car Franchises and owning 4 used car operations over his career, which along with his financial background, enables him to relate well with Dealer principles.

Wayne Garland has been on several panels for state and national conventions representing our industry mainly in regards to raising capital for BHPH Dealers.

David Algood

Director of Sales & Marketing

David Algood is the Director of Sales and Marketing at Ace Motor Acceptance Corporation (AMAC). David started in the automotive industry at an independent dealership and transitioned over to the finance business in 2007. Growing up in and around both car dealers and finance companies, David has a very comprehensive understanding of both sides of the business.

David started with AMAC in 2009 to help launch their BHPH program. Starting as a Dealer Development Representative, David quickly became the top performer and soon moved into a management roll. David was a key part in developing the branding of BHPH in a Box™ and the growth of the company.

As a Dealer Development Manager, David worked to tailor fit and customize programs to suit dealer’s needs. With the rapid growth of the company, David soon became the Director of Sales and Marketing and is a key member of the Executive Team.
